Needs of the Community

A FULL TIME MASJID

Every Muslim community needs a Masjid as it religious, educational and social center. There are Masjids in Springfiled, Falls Church and other localities in Virginia, except in Alexandria. The Muslim population is growing daily and this is espcially true in the Alexandria area. Presently, there are temporary arrangements for teaching the Holy Quran, but a full-time, organized Masjid is urgently needed for the Muslim Community in Alexandria, Virginia.

Our Project Masjid Al-Madinah

This year we launched a sincere effort to buy land or a building for a Masjid. The name Masjid Al-Madinah was chosen and a fund raising was don in May 1999. We collected about $18,000 in cash and checks and $99,000 was in pledges. Now, in November, after receiving some of the pledges and new donations, we have $150,000 in the bank.

Proposed properties

We have marked some properties for the proposed Masjid Al-Madina
  1. Six acre land near Saudi Academy on Route 1. The asking price is One Million Dollars.
  2. Two acre land with some already build buildings opposite the Beacon Mall. The asking price is 1.2 Million Dollars.
  3. A well-build community center in working condition. The asking price is 1.5 Million Dollars.

    We need at least $800,000 more to buy a reasonable area of land or building.

    How you can help this project

    1. Please communicate to ther muslims about this project and the Fund Raising on December 19th.
    2. You can generously donate as much as you can.
    You can ask your friends and relatives to kindly donate generously also.
    3. You can provide the Fund Raising Committee with the names of the otehr Muslim brothers and sisters who would like to make donations
    4. You can arrange mini fund-raising amongst your friends, at community meetings, etc.
    5. YOu can help us in organizing this Fund Raising by providing us with your suggestions and your active participations.

    Security Of Funds For The Masjid Project

    All the donations are in a secure joint account with Crester Bank, Account No. 202698394. We do not have any check books, and as a result, no one can withdraw any money from this account. At the time of settlement, all monies donated for this purpose, will be withdrawn with the express approval and endorsement of the founding members of IFNA.

    To build a Masjid is a very noble, sacred and religious cause. According to the Holy Saying of our Beloved Prophet, Sallallaho Alayhi Was Sallam.

    "The one who builds a masjid for the sake of Allah, Allah will build a home for him in paradise"

    Our dear Muslim brothers and sisters, you now have an opportunity to retain paradise. Don't miss this chance. This is the reward for the next world, but you will also get reward in this world. Whatever amount you donate towards the building of this Masjid, you can deduct it from your taxable income.
